Application Notes | Additional Information: Detects a band of approximately 34 kDa due to glycosylation of EPO (predicted molecular weight is 21 kDa (Swiss-prot)). The IgY fraction is isolated by a two-step PEG precipitation procedure followed by ammonium sulphate precipitation. Labelled with biotin. Background: Human erythropoietin (EPO) is an acidic glycoprotein hormone with a molecular mass of 21 kDa. As the prime regulator of red cell production, its major functions are to promote erythroid differentiation and to initiate hemoglobin synthesis. |
